About Alumni Association |
|
Rajasthan College of Agriculture was established in the year 1955 at Udaipur. First attempt to form its Alumni Association was made in the year 1980, the year of Silver Jubilee celebration of the College. That effort did not last long and the Association which at that time had a provision of annual membership only became defunct after the Silver Jubilee function of the College. Subsequently, Dr. G.S. Sharma after taking over as Dean, RCA in June 1996 took initiative towards forming afresh Alumni Association under a completely new constitution so that it may be self sustainable. A meeting of locally available Alumni was convened. Ad-hoc working group was constituted to frame constitution and take up membership drive. These efforts paid dividend. The constitution was framed and adopted by the General Body. Elections of office bearers were held. The new Executive Committee started functioning in 1998. Thus, the present RCA Alumni
Association came in to existence in the year 1998. It was got registered with the Registrar of Societies of Rajasthan on 17th March, 2001 (Registration No. 214-Udaipur-2000-01). The Association had its first national Convention on 29-30, June, 2000. Thereafter, the Association is organizing its National Convention every year. Besides its headquarters at Udaipur, its Chapters at Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kota, Bikaner and USA are functioning. Presently we are having 1510 members of the Association. The constitutional provision of Corpus fund comprising of funds received as membership subscription is an assurance for the self sustainability of the Association. The principal amount of this fund cannot be utilized by any authority. The interest of corpus fund can be used for day to day activities. Additional funds required for organizing
different activities are mobilized through various other ways viz., advertisements, donations etc.
